In the fourth episode of Bookbanter, I talk about Stephen King's latest book (as of 2020): a collection of four novellas called If It Bleeds. Now, I've been a Stephen King fan for a very long time (have a listen to the first episode if you haven't already), but I also have a very good friend who's been a fan for even longer, so I thought it would be great to bring him on to the show to co-host this episode, with us each taking two novellas to talk about.

My friend's name is Chris Fletcher and he is the voice of Jake Fisher on my podcast Ostium. We got to know each other from my bookstore days, most notably in having a love of Stephen King books in common. In 2007 I got the idea for the two of us to do a book chat show together that would be called Bookbanter. It was going to be a podcast and possibly a YouTube video show too, but unfortunately we couldn't get our schedules to align and it never came to fruition. Instead, I started my own project with the same name and featuring my book reviews and author interviews. And I'm now very happy to be resurrecting this show in a way.
As I was digging through old emails and archives from over ten years ago, I was delighted to discover I still had the original logo I made for Chris and I on the show.

You'll notice it's the same logo I now use for Bookbanter, absent Chris's name (and it's the logo I used for the original Bookbanter too). I plan on having Chris on again whenever we talk about King and possible other authors and books too, in which case this special logo will be making a reappearance.
In the beginning of this episode Chris also talked about meeting Stephen King in the 1980's and then Joe Hill at a signing we went to a number of years ago, and photos were taken at each place. Below you can see the proof in all of its glory:
